Water Lane Farm Farm has been part of the community in Upper Caldecote for many years, having first been depicted on local maps in 1884. The farm has been under the ownership of the Maudlin family since the early 1960's and remains in operation to this day.
Having been a thriving market garden operation in the past growing root vegetables and lettuces, today the fields yield arable crops including spring & winter wheat, winter linseed alongside onions and shallots
The farm works in partnership with the environment providing rich breeding grounds for farmland birds and other native species. New hedgrows and grassland strips have been planted to encourage wildlife. This dedicated work was recognised in 2011 with the awarding of the Purdey gold award for game and conservation.
There are plenty of lovely walks on the doorstep from Water Lane from where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
